Heartland Christian Educators’ Convention

This fall, a group of teaching staff & administration from FCA travelled to Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa for a Christian Educators Convention. The convention hosts a series of workshop sessions, round table discussions and a keynote speaker. The theme of the convention this year was “FLOURISHING: For Such a Time as This”. Some of the session choices that FCA staff attended included:

  • Dyslexia for a Day Simulation
  • Multiplying Leaders: How to help others realize & maximize their talents
  • Preparing for an Active Killer Situation in Christian Schools
  • Speechifying Strategies
  • Telling Your Story: Marketing Strategies for Christian Schools
  • 7 Strategies when Communicating with Difficult People
  • Why do People Support your School Financially? Knowing the Answer can Change your World.

Foothills Christian Academy is a member of Heartland Christian Schools. HCS is part of Christian Schools International , a network of Christian schools throughout North America. These schools have banded together for mutual activity & support. This convention is just one that FCA plans to attend this year. The next one will be for the FCA School board members in February.

See You at the Pole

“See You at the Pole” is an annual gathering of thousands of Christian students at school flag poles, churches, and the internet for the purposes of worship & prayer.

This year all of our students met outside of Foothills Christian Academy by the flag pole to lift up their prayers to Christ. It was fun to be a part of something that includes thousands of students in the USA from our sweet little spot here in Backus, Minnesota!
